GG Logistics Same Day Couriers has launched its new sameday courier blog. Owner Glenn Gane says "The blog is intended to take a light hearted look at the transport related news stories of the day as well as providing some useful information about the same day courier industry in general."
9th September - GG Logistics Same Day Couriers launches new website
GG Logistics Same Day Couriers has today launched its new website. Owner Glenn Gane says “Our business and the world in general has moved on since we launched our first website back in 2007 and so we felt that the time was right for a fresh new look to reflect our modern approach to the sameday courier industry.”
As well as an updated look, the new website also now incorporates an on line price estimator into which customers can input their journey details and instantly obtain a price estimate, a page giving all the latest news from GG Logistics and the courier industry in general and an updated payment portal. Glenn adds "We are really pleased with the new site. It feels more instinctive and we are sure that our customers will find it much easier to navigate than the old site."
8th September - GG Logistics Same Day Couriers solves legal conundrum!
Just over a week ago, GG Logistics Same Day Couriers received a call from a firm of solicitors who were just putting the finishing touches to an important legal document.
“The document had to take effect that day which meant that all parties had to have signed the document by the end of that day” explains Glenn Gane, owner of GG Logistics. “This meant that we had to get a driver to take the document to each person, get them to sign it and then drive it on to the next person before returning it to the solicitor before close of play. It was a long day and a tricky route taking us from Birmingham to Wales on to Reading, London, Cambridge and finally back to Birmingham but we did it and the solicitor and their client were delighted!”
Glenn adds “We enjoy a challenge and it gives us a real sense of satisfaction knowing that we are able to help keep the wheels of industry in motion!”
19th August - GG Logistics Same Day Couriers does a bank job!
At 8pm one Friday night a week ago, GG Logistics Same Day Couriers owner Glenn Gane was settling down for a quiet evening when his work mobile rang. On the other end of the line was an employee of a major high street bank who had an urgent delivery that needed to be picked up immediately from Shirley in the West Midlands and delivered by 9am Saturday morning to Colchester in Essex.
Glenn says “My customer had been badly let down by a well known overnight courier but the goods had to be collected, stored overnight and delivered by 9am the next day. Of course, this was no problem for us as same day urgent deliveries is exactly our area of specialism.”
Needless to say, Glenn immediately swung into action and the goods were collected within half an hour and delivered before 9am the next morning. “The customer was thrilled with the service and we were more than happy to help him make sure that his deadlines were met” says Glenn.
28 July - GG Logistics Same Day Couriers saves the day for TV production company!
It was late on a Thursday evening and GG Logistics owner Glenn Gane was preparing an evening of celebration for his wife’s birthday when the phone rang. It was an employee of a TV production company. Glenn explains “The chap on the other end of the line was in a bit of a panic because he had to get some show reels from Birmingham to Glasgow so they could be edited and processed in time for an early morning broadcast the next day. Some last minute technical issues had meant that there had been a delay to the original schedule and now it really was extremely urgent.” The staff at GG Logistics immediately sourced a sameday courier to collect the show reels and drive them directly to Glasgow. Glenn says “Within half an hour of receiving the call from the TV production company, a driver was on site to collect the reels and he set off there and then to Glasgow. Although it is a long journey from Birmingham to Glasgow, using a sameday courier meant that the reels got there as quickly as humanly possible.” The reels arrived in Glasgow late that night and although the editing guys had to work through the night, the reels were ready for the early morning broadcast.
6th May - ITV in crisis over water shortage.
It was shaping up to be an ordinary, busy Friday when one request really caught the imagination of the staff at GG Logistics Same Day Couriers. Owner Glenn Gane explains “As usual for a Friday, the phones were really busy with people wanting to get their goods delivered in time for the weekend when we received an urgent telephone call. A guest on one of ITVs live daytime chat shows had demanded that a particular brand of bottled water be available for them during the show. The particular brand that was requested was only available from a plant in Shropshire and so a sameday courier was the only way forward.”
Glenn and his team immediately swung into action and arranged for a driver to collect the water almost straight away and deliver it directly to the London studios. Glenn says “Because we have over 2000 couriers nationwide, we were able to arrange collection within about half an hour and the water was then driven directly to the studios with no delays. The water arrived in time for the show and the customer and the special guest star were delighted!!”
